The Latest!

Well, heck. School is just starting to get busy. About the time I finish homework for one class it's off to the next subject. I do love being busy tho, so there is no complaint there. Show choir is picking up and becoming more and more fun. We started a Beatles Medley Friday and it's really fun. We have a trip planned for October and I'm looking forward to it.

I have seen Aida twice now and it is superb!! The two women leads are amazing! Amneris and Aida. I have never heard or seen the show before, and it's always fun to discover new shows. The story is great and the music even greater. It's a story of forbidden love between Aida, the Princess of Nubia, and Radames, the Captain of the Guard of Egypt; the twist is that Radames is to be married to Amneris, the Princess of Egypt. I recommend it to everyone. It closes in a few weeks, so get out and see it if you haven't already.

I've really been wanting to catch some movies lately. Anybody recommend any playing right now? Lemme know! How is everyone? Comment and tell me what's goin' with ya'll! :)

And So It Goes..

The summer FALEW by! I can't believe that we are back to school already! Although, I am very much excited to be back at school. I like it..yep! I am already waist-deep in homework. I don't mind really; I enjoy being busy. Fun things I did this summer...well, I went up to Logan for a few days with Chance and Shad. It was a blast. It was fun to learn new things about them. Ya know when you spend a good amount of time with someone, you learn things about them you didn't know before. Nothing too scary did I learn. No, I think we all grew a little closer together. They both are now my brothers for all time. We played racket ball, football, lots and lots of Halo, Madden 09 and Call of Duty. We ate something every time we turned around. The weather was AWESOME up there, although, I recon Hurricane will be seeing that lovely weather soon enough.

Um..let's see...Shella my good friend got married!!! I'm really excited for her. Not one day passed that she didn't write Zach a letter or email. She is SO in love with him. It's fun to see couples like that; be so in love. I'm very happy for them.

I can't really think of anything else super duper exciting that happened over the summer..

I had a little scare yesterday. My mom was at work having a normally normal day and bam, her co-worker turns around and she's on the ground in a pool of blood having a seizure. Scary, scary!!! After all that she received a nice concussion and 17 staples to top it all off. Well, today she's doing better and getting back a little of her memory. Apparently she lost about 2 years of memory. Anyhow, she IS doing better now. The family was asking her questions and kept repeating themselves because she would forget 30 seconds later. They got a little kick out of that. Lightened the mood a bit. She is supposed to take 2 weeks off, doctors orders, but I doubt that will stop her. She's a very 'head strong' woman. She takes no crap, so to speak. Haha. Her blood sugar level was at 41 and a normal level is anywhere from 80-100, so they think that was definitely a factor for the seizure. Anyways, I'm glad she is feeling better.

So, yesterday, once again, reminded me to take nothing for granted in life. It was a..very personal reminder. We've all been reminded that lately with all the passing of friends, family and celebrities. But, even after all of that I had forgotten and yesterday kinda slapped me in the face. I am very grateful that Mom is doing better. SO. Moral of the story: Don't let one moment slip by. Being nice to someone, giving a hug, a smile and especially saying ''I love you'' to your family.

Other than all that exciting stuff, the summer was short and it's back to the books. So, how is everyone doing?! I haven't heard from the 'blogging community' for some time. How is everyone liking school? Do anything fun this summer? Let me know!! :)

The Dark Knight

I saw 'The Dark Knight' for the first time tonight and LOVED it!!! Jacob my cousin also watched it with me and liked it as well. I thought that the Joker, played by Heath Ledger, was amazing!!! So much, in fact, that Jacob and I decided to have a little fun and paint him up like the Joker. This is the picture we took right after. Whatta think? I wanted it dark and blurry so that is why I picked this one.

Been Awhile...

Well I've gone through another cell phone since the last time I've posted. The lake always seems to make friends with my phone EVERY stinkin' summer. On a happier note, I replaced it and it is a really nice phone. It has many features that I like. Woo!! :)

Jacob has been down for a week, today, and we have been having lots of fun together; The Dynamic Duo. I've felt close to this kid ever since he was born. He used to call me " 'His' Kyle." We've gone to the lake 3 times so far and I anticipate going a few more times while he's here. Jacob's birthday was a couple weeks ago, May 25th, and so I bought him a birthday present yesterday. He picked this Lego set that is themed after Indiana Jones. He had me help him build it. It was fun seeing him so excited about it :) He is down for another week so we'll see if his actions appear on the blog again.

WICKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"None of it seems to matter anymore." I had been counting down the days to see Wicked for 6 months. And...now it's all over :( It did not hit me that I was seeing the show until we walked into the Capitol Theater and saw the stage set for the first scene; a glowing map of Oz! It was an amazing show overall--it is Broadway after all. We saw the understudies for three of the leads. Glinda the good witch, Fiyero the heartthrob of the show, and Boq the eventual Tin Man. Marissa Lupp played Glinda and she is an amazing actress. Her voice could have been more impressive--hence her part as the Stand By. The set, costumes, lights and props were exact as they are in New York. It was definitely a great Broadway Tour. I can't believe I had the chance to see it!!!!! Go see it if you get the chance!!!!!!!
