Update!

Well, it's been a bit since I've posted eh? Let's see...lots has happened I suppose.

1-Got my first laptop
2-Almost died of boredom due to the lack of fun in this detestable Spring Break
3-Helped Shella clean her...really dirty room (it definitely needed some help)
4-Rode in the Tri-State OHV Jamboree--it was a blast!
5-Visited my fam in Las Vegas
6-Continually getting more and more excited to see Wicked in Salt Lake on April 9th
7-Strengthened an already great friendship :)

My friend Derek hooked me up with this sweet Compaq laptop at the price of a pretty penny. Anyhow, I really love it, and I am thrilled to be apart of the "in" crowd among the laptop geeks.

Can i just say that this has been the most boring Spring Break of my life!!!! This is largely due to the fact that Claire ditched Shella and me for Fallon, Nevada...who does that? Jk, Claire, i'm sure you are having a lot of fun there :) The most exciting thing that I have done or that has happened would have to be seeing Shella's room transform from a nasty-human eating-living quarters into a livable (clean) room.

I rode in the ATV Jamboree again this year. I have really enjoyed being a part of the Four-Wheeling club that my Grandparents help start a few years ago. I've been riding four-wheelers since I can remember. My favorite riding memory was when I was riding on the back of my granpa's machine; we would sing 'Popcorn Poppin' on the Apricot Tree,' it was great fun!

I visited my family in Las Vegas. Shella tagged along, and of course everyone thought that 'she must be my girlfriend if she were to come,' but no, she is just a good friend. Grandma, Shella and I pulled my moms four-wheeler trailer to her house so that she could come to the Jamboree. It was a fun couple of days. Shella learned a little how my family is, and well I guess my family learned that I really don't love Shella, haha! The same thing happened to me with Kimber in that I always hung out with her and of course my family thought that we loved each other.

Wicked!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't believe that is almost here! I have been counting down the days for 6 months. I can't wait to see this amazing show again. I saw it once before in L.A. on my Senior Choir trip to Disneyland. It is full of amazing music, btw, we have 2 extra tickets if anyone/anyone you know is interested. it is April 9th--that is 3 weeks away for you bad Matherz.

Seriously what would we do without friendship?! I am thankful for the great friends I am lucky to have, and their fantastic examples they blindly set for me. You know who you guys are, Thank You :)

Think Eternally!!

So, the theme that stuck out to me today while at church was "Eternal choices." At least it was mentioned in class and Sacrament. I have always thought about the phrase "think eternally." It is a cool phrase that should remind us of how the choices we make now, and every single day, shape our eternal happiness! I just thought I would share that with everyone! Magic of Music!

In theater, at least for me, when I see a show it has to capture me. The story must make me believe that what is going on is real. Contributing factors: Music, actors, scenery etc. I think for me that the most powerful way to "capture" people in the magic of the show is through music! Before I auditioned for Tuacahn last summer I knew nothing about any of the show's besides Sound of Music. When I first heard Les Miserables I immediately fell in love! The music gives me goosebumps. Anyways, this clip I have here talks about the beauty of life "in times gone by" how it was worth living, and how the world was a better place. There is obviously truth to that, but there is just something to Boublil and Schounbergs music that entraps you! It's inspirational for me. This clip is of Fantine; I also recommend Eponines songs. Really they are all masterpieces!!!

Opening Night!

Oh man!! I've never been quite this excited about opening a show. This is partly due to the fact that I'm ALWAYS really nervous, and also that this is one of my favorite shows!!! Gene Kelley is awesome!! He is my dancing hero! I also think Donald O'Connor is amazing! I think he's more of an unspoken dancing star of the fifties! He was definitely in the shadow of Gene on and off screen! Tap dancing is such an amazing thing! It looks really cool and sounds just as rad when you are watching someone perform, but oh boy, you have no idea how hard it is! You have to have a lot of endurance to even think about all the combinations! I'm really stoked that I have had the chance to learn some amazing Tap (Thanks Maria) and hope I do the choreography some justice.

This show in particular has been sooooo much fun! It's such a happy-spirited show! I've really enjoyed working with Roger Dunbar!! He and his wife are such great people!!! I worked with Tamari in Les Miserables this summer and they are such happy people! Anyhow, Roger is really fun to act with, we kind of feed off of each other, and I think and that really helps for these two characters escpecially! Roger was my director for Fantasticks and I think that show is where I grew as an actor the most! He really made us find a character and well..be them! So, if you ever have the chance to work under Roger DO IT!!!!! Well looky there, i've shpeeled once again, hope I didn't bore ya!

The moral of this story is to come see Singing in the Rain at the Eccles Stage at DSC!! Doors open at 7! Everyone come and enjoy!!! :D

Music!!

What would the world do without music??? I was listening to a good song today and I thought to myself that I don't think 1 day has gone by that I haven't listened to music!! I LOVE MUSIC!!! Boy am I thankful for the accessibility of music in today's world. iTunes!!!! I think that most people such as myself have a healthy addiction to music in the fact that it is a huge part of our lives without taking it over....hope that made sense! Which brings me to my next point..Celine Dion!!! (had a crush on her since I was 8) It all started with Titanic. That song "My Heart will go on;" ever since then i've been in love with that woman's voice. I watched her New Day concert she had in Las Vegas on TV a couple weeks ago and it was REALLY good! She has an AMAZING voice!!! Anyways, I think she performed at the Mirage??? Not really sure but I am so amazed at profesional stages! No really, these professional stages are miraculous! The Fly-systems are rad, not only do they move Vertically, they fly horizontally AND up and down stage!!! That's not all haha Fog comes out of little pores from the actual stage floor. Many many more cool things that I wont bore you "non theater" people with!

I sorta veered from the whole music chat! I wanna know what kind of music you guys like! Come, post on my blog...don't be bashful! :D

A Beautiful Life!

Thought I'd share a cool song with you guys!! I was listening to a song called "It's a beautiful life" (by Fisher) and it talks about how it's a beautiful time to be here, how the world out there is waiting for us, the blue sky, the sun rising etc. and it just reminded me how much we take for granted the "little things" in life. After listening to the song I think i'm going to try harder to appreciate the small things that bring us unconscious joy. I have a funny story to go along with the unconscious joy!

A week or so ago I was running late for class and I was rushing out the door and I got to the car and I pressed the unlock button on the keypad and it didn't make the unlocky door sound, so I pressed it again but nothing. I then looked for the key that opened the door but it wasn't there so I was locked out for sure because the ignition key doesn't unlock the door. At this piont I was ready to give up because I hate showing up late for things. I would rather just not show up (bad habbit I know) I tried calming myself down and stop bad words from entering my mind haha, so I just sat next to the car and started laughing! This little keypad was kicking my butt because I letting it do so. I now treasure the keypad!!!!! Anyways, it's just funny how little things like a keypad not working can turn your day around. So...appreciate the little things!!!
